WHAT IS HEART OF DARKNESS?
About HoD
Heart of Darkness is a "book universe." If you know the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan, the Shadowhunters books by Cassandra Clare, or the Cosmere by Brandon Sanderson, then you already have an idea of what this is. A film example would be the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Each series or standalone book can be read on their own, without reading the other series and books, but the best way to read them is together. Most will have subtle references to the other books that readers of multiple books will understand. Soon, though, you will need to be familiar with the characters of the other books, as there is something bigger coming involving all of them.
WILL THERE BE A CROSSOVER?
Yes! Book two of the main Heart of Darkness trilogy, currently called the “Mega Crossover” while Chloe and I brainstorm real titles, will bring together all of the characters from the various books and series listed on this page. This is why you will soon need to be familiar with the other books' characters—the Mega Crossover comes out in Fall 2025!
Book one, Anathema, introduces a new set of characters that will set up the Mega Crossover conflict. Though the crossover itself and Chloe's characters don't come in until book two, it is very important to read this book before the crossover!
