Day 6: A magic trick involving cards has gone horribly wrong. What are the consequences?

I will freely admit, this one stumped me. How could a card trick go horribly wrong? I had no ideas other than "no, that's not my card" or some kind of Bullseye-type thing. (For the non-comics fans, Bullseye is a Marvel villain with superhuman aim.)

Neither of these options was very appealing. Eventually, I decided to try microfiction and focus on the consequences of the card trick. (Terms and word counts vary depending on who you ask. Some sources say microfiction is under 500 words. Others say it's under 100. Mine ended up at 85 words, which might make it a drabble.)

It's vague, but that's the point. What happened? You decide!

“What have you done!”

“How could you?”

“Did he just…?”

“Yeah, he did!”

“Guys, guys! Calm down! That wasn’t supposed to happen.”

“That was horrible!”

“What kind of card trick is that?”

“I can’t believe what I’m seeing.”

“This is what I paid for?”

“Please, stop! It was an accident, I swear!”

“Accident, my foot!”

“How do you do that by accident?”

“There’s no way. You meant to do that.”

“Yeah, you did it on purpose!”

“You have to believe me! Please, I –”

Silence.
